No daddy I  don’t want a big city I just want a big life

I love my small town

But there I cannot roam around

I want to live there with you and mom

But  I want to spend some time alone

I want to run as fast as I can on the jogging tracks

Without that neighbour passing remarks

I want to live my life to the fullest

Without any checklist and rule booklet

Sometimes I want to party hard and  come late

Without making you and mom to stay awake

I love being in comfort of  your  protection

You make me feel as if I am a princess of some fiction

Its  so cozy and comfortable

Food cooked by mom on the table

But daddy will you please remember

I am not your little angel

in this big bad world

I am  your strong young warrior

Whom you taught to live freely without any barrier

You want me to touch the sky

but at the same time you want  to keep me close

I understand your feeling

But daddy please don’t give me that glass ceilling

that ceilling is not my sky
I want to fly high

But I will keep my feet planted  firmly on the ground

I will never forget the lessons  learned

I am always  going to return to my roots

No matter how busy I am in my goal pursuits

So daddy please let go of your worries and strife

I don’t want that big city

I just want a big life

I will have to go away

Only to come back to you and mom

And  to this small town which is our home

  1. I’ve always wanted success in life, but I’m not sure about ‘a big life’.
I remember my parents were worried about me – because I couldn’t find a job.
In the end, I’m writing, and that’s what I love. So I guess that’s the big life for me.
